Jess's Story

In her own words: "Opening the doors to Vida Healing felt like a dream come true. Getting the opportunity to create safe spaces for others to land during challenging times felt really meaningful, but at the same time, it all felt like a surreal experience. A few years ago, I was someone who could barely get out of bed due to the deep depression I found myself in. I know what it is like to feel completely lost, worthless, and devoid of hope. I struggled for years with PTSD, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, chronic pain, and an eating disorder. I feel so grateful that I am now in a healthy place with my mental health & wellbeing. I never imagined that I could ever feel the sense of peace that I feel now, and I hope that by sharing those details of my story I can help to create a picture of what is possible when you don't give up on yourself. Is my life perfect? No. Are there still things I am working on? Absolutely. But I no longer feel the deep level of pain I once felt. The journey to where I am now required time, patience, and compassion.

I've invested in therapy, coaching, group programs, bodywork, and other healing modalities. Instead of running away from my past, I learned how to accept it and how to stop letting it define my present and future. It wasn't "magic" or some secret no one knows about. It was a lot of small steps over time. There were and still are setbacks, but I now have the tools that I need to help get me "unstuck" when necessary so that I can continue moving forward. Breathwork has become one of the most life-changing tools in my toolbox. Everyone is different so I can only speak to my own experience, but breathwork has helped me to regulate my nervous system, process and release past trauma, deepen a sense of self-trust, and change the perspective I have on my life. My hope is to take everything that I have learned through my own experiences and training to help empower others towards seeing how capable they are of overcoming whatever it is that they are currently going through."

Mission

Vida Healing was created with the mission to help clients let go of anything that is standing in the way of them feeling true joy and alignment in life. We are not here to “fix you”. You aren’t broken. We are about creating a space where you can connect with your body, your heart, your soul, with your truth so that you can guide yourself forward. A space to put down the baggage that has been weighing you down so that you can step into your life feeling freer, clearer, and with a greater awareness of yourself and your life.

Breathwork Education

Jessica is a certified trauma-informed breathwork facilitator who earned this certification after completing an intensive

9-month training via Lukis Mac's and Hellé Weston's Owaken Breathwork facilitator program.

While the program had a focus on teaching breathwork techniques, there was also an in-depth focus on what it means to be a safe, trauma-informed facilitator; how to best support clients from a wide range of uniquely lived experiences; as well as education around understanding non-ordinary states of consciousness, inner child work, limiting beliefs, family dynamics, how to properly support a client's integration post-session, and much more.

Doing deep inner work via personally participating in breathwork journeys was also required. Jessica knows on a very personal level what doing this work feels like, how transformative it can be, and how to help guide others who are interested in incorporating this practice into their journey.
